  1. "You can close your eyes, its alright. I dont know no love songs, and I cant sing the blues anymore, but I can sing this song, and you can sing this song, when Im gone" -James Taylor, "You Can Close Your Eyes"
My parents sang this song to me a lot when I was very young and it has always reminded me of them and they both explained to me that they both loved the song ever since it came out. It has a lot of emotional meaning to me and a lot of memories and it makes me think that you dont have to have anything fancy or special to show someone you love them. I love this song also because it reminds me how lucky I am to have parents that still love each other very much and also love their family.

  2. music makes the WORLD go AROUND!

"Well I just heard the news today
It seems my life is going to change
I close my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face

    With arms wide open
    Under the sunlight
    Welcome to this place
    I'll show you everything
    With arms wide open
    With arms wide open

    Well I don't know if I'm ready
To be the man I have to be
I'll take a breath, I'll take her by my side
We stand in awe, we've created life"

I think this song is very beautiful and you can interpret a lot of meanings but to me this song is about a new father, describing how he feels about his son being born, he doesn't want him to go through what he did. He also says over and over "with arms wide open", meanings he's always going to be there for his son to guide him and protect him.
I choose this song because people in this generation do not cherish and guide their new born children like they should, this is a very powerful song and a father could relate more than anyone i'm sure.

  3. "Best start putting first things first"
'Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip it over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth"
    - These are pretty good lyrics because it reminds you to live life without regrets and make the most of everything. My grandpa went into surgery a few years ago with a small chance to survive and he came out of it better than ever. This really opened my eyes, seeing how short life is and to make every second count.

  4. Music makes the world go round'!! One of my favorite songs is: In My Arms by Plumb.
Some of the lyrics that mean the most to me are:
Your baby blues, so full of wonder
Your curly cues, your contagious smile
And as I watch, you start to grow up
All I can do is hold you tight
Story books full of fairy tales
Of kings and queens and the bluest skies
My heart is torn just in knowing
You'll someday see the truth from lies
This song to me relates to my relationship with my son; he is blonde haired-which curls-, and blue eyes just like his daddy. I constantly fear what life (or the world) will be like for him in the future, as he grows up. Right now he believes in magic, fairy tales, and that mommy and daddy can fix any problem that arises. Life is not that simple and right now all I can do is hold him tight and prepare him for the world, the best that I can. Being a mother isn’t easy and hearing a song that relates to my feelings; knowing that someone else out there feels the same way, makes me feel a little better.

  5. It's the same hate that's caused wars from religion. Gender to skin color, complexion of your pigment. The same fight that led people to walk-outs and sit-ins. Human rights for everybody, there is no difference.
This song called “Same Love” by Macklemore is about the stereotyping that the world does every day; whether it is sexuality, race, or even gender. It explains how the United States fought for the rights of each individual and the freedom for everyone yet most people are still living in the past instead of the present. People call gays faggots or say women belong cleaning house and the man is the dominant person in the household. It also talks about how some young kids “would rather die than be who they are”. The main point to the song is that no matter what god we believe in we all came from the same one and no matter what laws are made, nothing will change until the world decides to change.

  6. Shinedown Follow you Down

If I could find assurance to leave you behind
I know my better half would fade
And all my doubt is a staircase for you
Up and Out of this Place
The first step is the one you believe in
The second one might be profound.

    [Chorus:]
I'll follow you down through the eye of the storm
Don't worry I'll keep you warm.
I'll follow you down while we're passing through space
I don't care if we fall from grace
    I'll follow you down

    [Verse 2:]
You can have the money and the world
    The angels and the pearls
    Even trademark the color blue
Just like the tower we never built
In the shadow of all the guilt
When the other hand was pointed at you
Yeah the first step is the one you believe in
The second one might be profound.

    [Chorus:]
I'll follow you down, through the eye of the storm
Don't worry I'll keep you warm.
I'll follow you down, while we're passing through space
I don't care if we fall from grace
I'll follow you down to wherever forever lies
Without a doubt am on your side
There's nowhere else that I would rather be
Am not about to comprise, give you up to say goodbye
I'll guide you through the deep I'll keep you close to me!

    [Chorus]
I'll follow you down through the eye of the storm
Don't worry I'll keep you warm.
I'll follow you down while we're passing through space
I don't care if we fall from grace
    I'll follow you...

If I could find assurance to leave you behind
I know my better half would fade
    I'll follow you down.

This whole song has many symbols of my life with my ex-husband. Every line still influences my mind years after being divorced. It makes me get this feeling of anger and regret in some of the choices that were ultimately made. He sings about his insecurities and lies, that ultimately would bring them both down. Guilt for all involved leads to a lifetime of misery, if you can't let go of someone because of all of your co-dependent qualities.

  7. When it comes to music is not only about the content of the lyrics but also melody that goes with the lyrics. I have many, many songs that I like. Couple of songs that I was recently listening to are “Tears” by Headstrong, “Wish you were here” by Bliss. In the song “Tears” is about love. “I’ll keep it simple, I’ll keep it true, and all the love I have I’ll give it to you, I will keep it easy, I will keep it real, All the love I have is what you will feel…” In my mind, this is exactly what our soul needs in order to be happy is another person with pure passion and innocent intentions to come in our life and fulfill it with love.

  8. "You're my world, the shelter from the rain, you're the pills that take away my pain." Tangled up in you – Staind. This song’s lyrics are just super powerful and bring different meanings to me. I can relate these lyrics to so many situations. It’s a love song but it’s not mushy I can sit there and imagine having something or someone being to be that content with. And be able to express and understand those feelings. When it talks about the pills it brings almost a different connotation to the context of pills. Your describing your love for someone who can “take” to block your pain.

  9. Sitting in the morning sun
Ill be sitting when the evening comes
Watching when the ships role in
Then Ill watch them role away again
I’m sitting on the dock of the bay, watching the time roll away
I’m just sitting on the dock of the bay
    Wasting time.
-Otis Redding “The Dock Of The Bay”

This song has been one of my favorites for years the melody and the words are all so perfect for where we live. The man is explaining his life as he has moved from place to place and finally had found where he had wanted to be in life. Just as myself want to be relaxing on the bay one day having no worries and no place to be
