The Millennial generation can be defined by a larger population of 18-28 year olds who have set their standards apart from previous generations. They are more well educated, have higher standards for gender equality, are more independent and not married or in a committed relationship, are more urban socialized, and have veered away from the military.
Our world is changing very fast in terms of technology, education, employment, and many other things. This generation has been able to experince things that no other generation could imagine. These advancements have shape the opinions and face of this millenial generation. Trends like marriage, income, and housing have changed much due to this millenial generation.
Our world today is considered millennial; full of social networking, television, cell phones, tattoos, piercings, and times are changing from strict religion. I took the quiz on the site and scored a 94 out of a 100. I guess it is pretty accurate since I am very into technology and changing the times. I can only imagine how different things will be when my son grows up…..
I think that it is very interesting, technology has token over the "Millennial", marriage and appearance has changed as well. Many people have tattoos and piercings. Democratic Party, lately has always appealed to the younger generation. Facebook, instagram and all other social media is booming and every "Millennial" has.
I got a 92 on the quiz. It explains that I am apart of the younger, modern generation. I have profiles on social networks, I watch television, I have piercings, and I believe that people should be allowed to marry other races without being judged. I don’t read the newspaper or involve myself in politics.
The comparison of the different generations is quite interesting. I was stuck by the fact that one of the biggest differences between the Milennial generation and previous generations is that the previous generations have a greater work ethic and higher morals. I was glad to read that the Milennial generation has a posititive attitude in terms of their futures. I was also glad to learn that they place high priority on family.
The Pew Research often keeps facts about many topics. The page on Millennial’s offers a bird’s eye view of the Millennial age group of 18-28 year olds. They are very adept at social media, texting and technology. They have a cell phone, vote democratic until they became disillusioned over the current state of affairs. They are generally not married but interested in going to college. They have been brainwashed by the schools systems to think green and be environmentally conscious. They are not very aware of privacy because they express themselves on the net.
The Millennial generation differs so much from just twenty years ago. I feel privileged to be part of an open minded group of young people. I do have a few tattoos, which puts me in a category, that people of an older generation do not approve of. I'm right in between being a generation X versus a Millennial, exactly in the middle. My life shows this very much so, Im very open minded, but my morals get the best of me, and keep me from going outside the box.
There is a difference on how we, people, think today versus how our older generations were thinking. Mostly the difference differs because of our culture differences between today and 1963. People tend to live freely and happier or at list people tend to create stress free life. Many people are not committed to a relationship because of career they want to have or simple because is too complicated.
I have realized reading those charts and was quit amazed at the fact that the population has gone down in the millennial era. Also the fact that now of days women are actually more educated than men which was empowering in a way. Also the fact that Americans make less money now then we used to which I would think would be the opposite.
It crazy that how everything in this world has changed and been flipped around. Men used to think that they were everything and women were there to cook and clean, now look; women have the higher hand in graduating and in and being more educated we man do.
It is really shocking to see the drastic difference between the different generations, especially in the amount that were married. Things like television and internet have also completely shifted society values from what they use to be.As a millenial it is difficult to have an accurate representation of how times really were before technology.
