I chose the assignment on page 914, in respect to gender and emotion. I decided on this topic because the issue of gender has been around for centuries and I think it is ridiculous. Gender does not make one person any better than the other, solely based on anatomy. I am choosing to reference “The Changeling” because I feel as though the poet captured how perception based upon gender affects others. I have strong feelings about this situation, so naturally I chose this topic.
For the third paper I chose to write about symbolism. The main reason I chose the symbolism question is that I can use any poem in the book and I don't have to focus on just one chapter. Another reason I chose the symbol question is because I feel I can explain symbols in a poem better than anything else.
I chose the poem written by Michael Weaver Titled “American Income.” I chose to because when I read the first sentence it made me want to continue reading,
I choose my 3rd paper on gender and emotion on page 914. I choose this topic because I understood it the most and one of the poems in that section, had a great emotion and gender selection. "To the Ladies" is what I choose and it has a great explanation on how women felt in the 1700's and how they got treated.
I am not completely set on my choice but I was thinking of doing the category of gender and talking about the emotions that the poem makes you feel. I chose the poem called Changeling. I enjoy the playfulness of the child though it does not seem that the parents completely understand their child.
I chose the assignment on page 914.The assignment asks the writer to write an essay describing how a particular poem moves them or emits certain emotions. My reason for choosing this one, was the fact that as humans we are emotional creatures. I thought it would be and interesting way of explaining a poem.
I chose to do my paper on the question for page 1014, number 3. I haven't chosen a poem yet for my paper, but i think i could write something interesting based of a symbol in the poem. It doesnt limit me to one subject so i think that is the best option for me. -Nathan Corchis
I chose war and peace because it is a topic I feel it is more open in our time and I can relate to the concepts. I feel everyone has their own opinions on both war, and peace but my opinion is that war is about standing up one another and it reminds me of immature high kids to make it short and sweet.
I decided on the last option. I chose this one because it seemed to be the most broad option that would allow me to expand on my creativity the most. I am excited to tear apart a poem and really delve into the meaning of it.
I haven't completely decided but I think Im going to pick from the the gender section. I think it will be interesting because it is something I think will be fun to look into.
I like Gravity. It is easy for me to relate to this poem. I believe that I will be able to easily write on this poem. The symbolism is uncanny to my own life. I can relate to the girl, or child of the father with so many women. My mother was not the one who stayed but there was a woman who did stay in his life and was that person in the poem. p 972
